The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Abubakar Audi on Tuesday evening in Kaduna command, condoled officers and men of Kaduna command over the killing of seven officers by bandits in Birnin Gwari Local Goverment area of Kaduna state.
Dr. Audi who spoke to officers and men at the NSCDC Kaduna State Headquarters on Tuesday evening, noted that condolence is for all NSCDC personnel
According to him, he was in Kaduna to first console officers and men of the command because of the love he has for the personnel.
“First let me console you. Condolences is for all of us. Because of the love I have for the personnel, I deemed it fit to visit this command.” He said
According to him, he was not in the country when the incident happened, but even if he was in the country, there is nothing he can do, as death is inevitable.
“When the incident happened I was away. There is nothing I can do, I have not come to speak too much English.” He further said
Dr. Audi who described the killing of seven officers as “sad”, further added that it would not deterred the officers and men of the corps because it’s part of the risk, adding that inspite of the casualties, they must carry out their responsibility of protecting lives.
“It’s very sad but it will not derter us because this is our job, it’s part of the risk of the job. Don’t be deterred, it’s part of the job”. He said
Dr. Audi promised to impart on the officers and men of the command on Wednesday, as he promised to deliver a lecture.
“By tomorrow I will give you some lectures. This is a moment of grief for all of us. We have been having incident in the past, but this is large. I come to commensurate with you. Take heart pray for them. Remain steadfast and do your best in this service. Some of us who have grown up in this service, we know what it means. The essence of leadership is to impart in the subject.”
” Ordinary, I can direct the state commandant to speak on my behalf. But I felt that as a father of the corps, I decide to come. I reserved what I have to say. Tomorrow I Will come and say it” Dr. Audi further added
Earlier, the CG had a brief and undisclosed meeting with ACG Haruna M L. Zone B Zonal Commander, State Commandant Idris Y. A. Other Commandant From Zonal Command at the Kaduna State commandant’s office.
