Kaduna Government Inaugurates NSCDC Officer As HeforShe Ambassador

Following the familiarisation visit to Kaduna Government House in April, 2022, by the state Commandant, Idris Yahaya Adah expressing the corp’s determination to synergy with other sister agencies with a view to end terrorist and other forms of crimes in the state, the Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, on Friday, inaugurated the Desk Officer, Gender and Child’s Protection unit, NSCDC Kaduna, DSC Shehu Suleiman Maiyaki as “HeforShe” Ambassador.

Recalls that the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Idris Yahaya Adah had in April 2022, as part of his familiarisation, visited Kaduna Government House, to express the corps determination to end crimes in the state, while synergising with other sister agencies.
The Deputy governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, had expressed the Ministry of Human Services and Social Development’s determination to collaborate with NSCDC, with a view to end violence against women in the state.

” I know that the Ministry of Human Services and Social Development has a very strong collaboration with NSCDC, especially in helping to arrest those who are violating our little girls and in the matters of Gender Based Violence,” She said

Following this, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, on Friday, in Government House, inaugurated the Desk Officer,
Gender and Child’s Protection unit, NSCDC Kaduna, DSC Shehu Suleiman Maiyaki as “HeforShe” Ambassador.
She urged him to use his position to end the rapes cases and other
Gender Based Violence in the state.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after his inauguration, DSC Shehu Suleiman Maiyaki, expressed appreciation to the Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, the NSCDC Commandant, Idris Yahaya Adah, for finding him Worthy and qualified as desk officer in the Gender and Child’s Protection unit under Anti human Trafficking, Irregular Migration and Gender Unit, NSCDC Kaduna.

According to him, with his inauguration as “HeforShe” Ambassador, he is prepared to discharge his duties and responsibilities effectively.

The program which was organised by the Ministry of Human Services and Social Development in collaboration the UN-Women in peace and development with support from the Norwegian Goverment, AFAW, and UNDP had members drawn from the media, traditional ruler, religious and the paramilitary
