Former Director, Cooperative Society, department, Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Ishaya Chikale on Wednesday, in Kaduna, advised men to form a cooperative society which will increase in their individual’s productivity, income generation and improved the standard of living of their respective family
Mr. Chikale, while presenting a paper titled; ” Formation and Management of Cooperatives for Sustainability,” at a one day sensitization program held at CaRE-NGO Multi-purpose hall Kaduna, informed men to come together and form a cooperative society, as it will enable them to gain access to attract Government’s aids, schemes, and grants to improved productive.
According to him, as members of cooperative society, there are several gains such as; being part of social gathering, identified by common needs and objectives.
He further added that a member of cooperative society usually have a sense of belonging which makes the individual acts in concert with others in matters affecting the group dynamics.
The sensitization program which was put together by CaRE-NGO, in collaboration with Urgent Action Africa attract men from different communities within Kaduna and it’s envrions.
However, during the interactive session, two participants testified to the benefit of being a cooperative member.
According to Achile who said though he is already a member of one cooperative society, but anxiously waiting to join one, said as a cooperator, you are entitled to borrow money and pay little percentage as interest.
Mr. Julius Magaji told the participants that as a member of cooperative society, he enjoyed all the rights and privileges attached to it.
Participants at the program were later divided into different group, with each group presented an outline on how they are going run a.newly formed cooperative society.
Some participants who spoke to WORLDLINKNEWS, expressed their profound gratitude to Almighty God for being part of the program, as he stands to benefit immensely from the presentation.
