Leaders have been asked to demonstrate political will by supporting the Nigerian Army and its sister agencies to ensure peace and stability in the country.
The Emir of Anka who is also the Chairman, Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, Attahiru Ahmad, made the call during his visit to the Nigerian Army Special Super Camp IV at Faskari community in Katsina State, with his counterpart from Katsina.
A few days ago, members of the National Assembly and governors of Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, and the Sokoto States, were at the Super Camp to assess the Nigerian Army’s ongoing war against insecurity, in the Northwest geo-political zone.
This time, it is the turn of the traditional rulers from the zone.
They are canvassing support for the Nigerian Army, asking the people to give useful information that will aid in crushing the bandits.
The Emir expresses optimism that the Nigerian Army is capable of confronting the security challenges, bedeviling the country.
He says the traditional rulers are major stakeholders in all aspects of peace and progress of the country and they are giving the necessary support in the fight against insecurity, through intelligence sharing.
The monarch observes that there are myriad challenges facing Nigeria, which security operatives alone can not overcome within a short time.
The Zamfara monarch highlights the need for the political leaders, to provide the necessary support to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, to eliminate the prevailing insecurity being faced in the country.
