The Adamawa State Police Command has said that, the thunderstorms killed 18 bandits in Pawati Forest, and not in Toungo Adamawa Boarder as alleged.
WORLDLINKNEWS recalls a threading online publication that thunderstorms killed 18 bandits in Toungo Adamawa Boarder.
But, in a press statement issued and signed on Saturday, by the Adamawa Police Public Relations
DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said, the incident happened in Pawati Forest, close to Cameroun Republic.
His words: “The attention of Adamawa State Police Command is drawn over a publication ” Cross Boarder Banditry , Thunderstorms Kill 18 Kidnappers In Toungo, Adamawa Boarder Community” threading on Social Media.”
According to the statement, “”in order to keep the record straight, such incident never happened anywhere in Toungo, Adamawa State as alleged but in Pawati Forest, somewhere in Cameroun Republic.
“It’s not in dispute that Toungo Local government is bordering with villages under Cameroun Republic which a times criminals comes in to Border Communities and commit crimes but, with this Border closure, measures had been taken by the Command to prevent such”
The statement further said that, “the command while urging members of the public to disregard such report , equally assured members of the Puplic of it’s commitment to protecting lives and properties.”
