The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State on Thursday cautioned the people of the state against any act of violence and allow peace to reign supreme.
Oyo State NSCDC Commandant, Alhaji Iskilu Akinsanya gave the charge at the command’s headquarters in Agodi, Secretariat area of Ibadan while addressing all Divisional officers, peace and conflict Resolution unit desk officers,Agro Rangers and intelligent officers deployed to across the state with other security agencies
According to Alhaji Akinsanya, the Oyo state NSCDC on its part is determined to protect innocent protester as well as lives and properties of other citizens of Nigerian in and across Oyo state, irrespective of who they are and where they are from.
“The general public is hereby warned to desist from any act of violence in the state.
As much as we appreciate your concern for us as well as good governance ,please stop attacking Security agents or their formations they are your parent, brothers or sisters and friends ,do not destroy government properties because it is our common wealth and heritage” he said.
Alhaji Akinsanya added that in protecting the lives and properties of the people of Oyo state, the “Nigeria security and Civil Defence Oyo state have deployed personnel with other sister agencies to ensure peace is sustain and critical national assets are protected “.
The Commandant streesed that “the Endsars protest which was peaceful should not allow disgruntled elements to cause untold hardship on people they are fighting for.”.
