Edo Solidarity Forum (ESF), a group of concerned professionals from the state has called for peace and all forms of hostilities at the Edo State House of Assembly aimed at derailing peace and development in the state.

ESF said in a press statement signed by its president, Prince Ameer Idris said that the coalition of Governor Godwin Obaseki and former national chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun against the chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole was unacceptable.

The statement said that the sacrifice of Oshiomhole in supporting Governor Obaseki ahead of his deputy on his road to the Edo State Government House deserves respect and appreciation.

It further said that the role the governor played in the defeat of President Muhammadu Buhari in the state in the last presidential election has its negative effect on the state therefore the governor should not behave like a drowning man looking for who to go down with, adding that people will stand against any ploy by the governor to cover his failure.

ESF also said that as much as it’s not exonerating the APC national chairman on the crisis and allegations, it believes that the APC national chairman does frequent the state to enable him plan to prevent any upheaval to derail development in the state.

It explained that if the chairman was interested in distracting the governor, he wouldn’t have supported him ahead of his deputy which everybody thought would have succeeded him.
ESF expressed disappointment that the former national chairman of APC, Chief John Oyegun could kowtow with the governor in fighting Oshiomhole on false allegations.

It advised the former Edo governor to play a fatherly role to both Governor Obaseki and Oshiomohle instead of taking sides.

It added that Oyegun should remain a statesman rather than involving himself in any rancour in the state.
